Special meeting of the Village of Briarcliff

Board of Adjustment

Minutes January 26, 2022

Chairman Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.

Present: Board Members Elliott, Johnston, Richmond and Aldrich

Absent: Board Member Taylor

Board Member Richmond made a motion, seconded by Board Member Elliott to elect the Mayor to be the Chairman and the Mayor Pro-Tem to be the Vice Chairman of the Board of Adjustment. All in favor, motion passed.

Chairman Hostetler explained the purpose of this meeting is to decide whether to pass a Variance of Zoning Ordinance No. 05-28-96-01 to allow up to 12 units to be built on Lots 1375 and 1378 combined.

Chairman Hostetler then stated β€œBefore we open the public hearing, are there any requests for postponement or issues of standing that anyone would like to raise?” Hearing none, Chairman Hostetler invited Thomas Maione to present his request for the Variance.

After taking an oath, Thomas Maione explained that his request of the Zoning Variance is consistent with the Village of Briarcliff Ordinances of December 7, 2021. The Variance is in his best interest less Zoning and Multiple Family.

Chairman Hostetler asked if anyone wanted to comment in favor or against the request.

Hearing no comments, Chairman Hostetler asked Board members if they wanted to propose a motion.

Board Member Elliott made a motion, Seconded by Board Member Richmond to approve that we grant a variance to Zoning Article 14.03 under the Multiple Family Housing District Subtitle (originally Zoning Ordinance Number 05-28-96-01) to allow up to 12 units to be built on Lots 1375 and 1378 combined. All in favor, motion passed.

No Board discussion. Motion passed unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:12 p.m. Tina Linder, Village Clerk
