Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes- December 5, 2018
Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Aldermen Elliott, Bowles, Hertel, Johnston and Richmond.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Alderman Hertel made a motion, seconded by Alderman Elliott, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the September 19, 2018 Public Hearing. All in favor, motion passed.
Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bowles, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the October 24, 2018 Regular Monthly Meeting. All in favor, motion passed.
Alderman Elliott read and gave a review of the financial reports for October, 2018. No comments or questions from the Citizens or Council.
Alderman Johnston made a motion, seconded by Hertel, to approve Resolution number 2018-12-05-07, Granting the consent of The Village of Briarcliff, Texas, to the creation of Travis county Emergency Services District No. 16. No questions. All in favor, motion passed.
Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Johnston, to approve Resolution in support of NIBRS Grant and designates the Mayor as the granteeโs authorized official for the Village of Briarcliff. All in favor, motion passed.
Alderman Hertel made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bowles, confirming the 2019 Regular Monthly Meeting Schedule and Holiday Closings for the Village of Briarcliff. All in favor, motion passed.
Alderman Elliott made a motion, seconded by Alderman Richmond, to approve the Lake Travis View as the Village of Briarcliffโs Public Notice Newspaper. All in favor, motion passed.
Mayor Hostetler update about ongoing Village activities:
We have updated our Firewise data and we are certified for another year.
With the help of Dee Warren, our new code enforcement officer, we have greatly strengthened our Building Program and our enforcement of existing and new rules. Of course all rule adjustments are coordinated with the BPOAโs Architectural Control Committee.
Our new Deputy Court Clerk, Terri Randolph, has recently been certified. She has worked diligently over the past several months bringing all court documents up to date.
Chief DeLira gave a brief update.
City Administrator, Aaron Johnson gave a brief update regarding City Business.
