Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes- August 28, 2019
Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Aldermen Aldrich, Elliott, Johnston and Richmond. Absent: Alderman Hertel.
Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Aldrich, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the July 24, 2019, Public Hearing. All in favor, Motion passed.
Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Elliott, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the August 15, 2019, Special Called Meeting of the Finance Committee to review and discuss the budget process for the fiscal year October 1, 2019 β September 30, 2020. All in favor, Motion passed.
Alderman Aldrich made a motion, seconded by Alderman Elliott, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the July 24, 2019, City Council Regular Monthly Meeting. All in favor, motion passed.
Alderman Richmond read and gave a review of the financial reports for July, 2019.
Alderman Elliott made a motion, seconded by Alderman Richmond to approve Ordinance 2019-08-28-08 repealing the application of the exemption from sales and use tax for telecommunications services. All in favor, Motion passed.
Mayor Hostetler gave an update about ongoing activities:
Village of Briarcliff will be paving Cat Hollow and Felicia Drive with the help from Travis County.
The Village is working to create an Ordinance to clear trees. The Village staff liked Lago Vistaβs Ordinance the way the rules were laid out.
Mayor encourages everyone to sign up for Eye on Water to set up alerts in case of any water leaks.
Mayor Hostetler read the Constables Security Report. The August report stated a total of 115 contacts and 30 traffic stops.
City Administrator, Aaron Johnson explained the meters are almost complete. The difficult meters were left to complete last due to them being old. Testing for lead and copper soon. Travis County bids for paving are set for September 4th. Felicia Drive to be paved completely.
Katie Vann requested that the Village re-think the process for clearing lots and add a topo to be put on the lot clearing information.
Mayor Hostetler said he appreciates all of the Citizen comments.
