Reminder: Trimming oak trees is prohibited in Briarcliff from February 1 through June 30. The purpose is to help curb the spread of oak wilt in our area.
As most know, Police Chief Lou DeLira has resigned. As approved at the special meeting February 14, we will be contracting with Travis County Constable Precinct Two to provide a dedicated Constable to replace Lou. I am in the middle of contract negotiations and hope to finish soon. We plan to increase the part time Constableβs time after Lou leaves and before the contract is signed to cover the open times. Contrary to rumors I have heard, Chief DeLira resigned, he was not released/fired/whatever. That was the reason for the quick special meeting February 14 to get a replacement program implemented ASAP. All is moving on schedule.
Mayor Hostetler received a letter from the University of North Texas applauding Tina Linder, Village Clerk for completing her recertification. Mayor Hostetler read a portion of the letter.
City Administrator, Aaron Johnson explained the antennas are being installed today for the badger meters. In a week or two Amber will be logging data and scheduling training when she gets back from vacation. There are 450 meters that have been replaced. Cat Hollow should be live by March. Marina and Restaurant were the first two installed. Shooting to have all the meters replaced and live by the end of the year.
Adjourned at 7:13 p.m. ATTEST: Tina Linder, Village Clerk
