Mayor Hostetler gave an update about ongoing activities:
Our resolution to the LCRA for expanding our buoy permit area along the entire stretch of Briarcliff apparently has been approved although we have no paperwork yet. Weβre working with them about how many buoys will have to be replaced but I donβt expect too many since weβve cut done the number due to cost.
Oak Wilt: Two letters sent to homeowners. First one to people within 300β of the oak wilt center. Second one to people that are intimately involved. Iβll continue to pursue this, knocking on doors if necessary. We have two households that weβre having trouble reaching. The owner of the oak wilt center has already had their trees treated. Iβll keep the Council up to date with pertinent information as it occurs.
There have been two deaths in Briarcliff over the past two weeks. The first one was a confirmed suicide, the second one is an apparent suicide but not confirmed so please donβt spread the word too much on the second one.
Mayor Hostetler read the Constables Security Report:
61 Community Contacts, 1 Collision, 2 Close Patrols, 1 Ordinance Violation and 10 Assist Other Agents.
Mayor Hostetler gave the City Administrator report:
Six new water taps and several people are waiting since the supply chain has dried up so we are still waiting on the taps to be delivered.
Alderman Aldrich announced there is a parade in the works for the Graduating Seniors for May 23rd.
