Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes August 26, 2020
Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
Present: Aldermen Elliott, Hertel, Johnston and Richmond. Absent: Alderman Aldrich
Thomas Maione was the only Citizen present for Citizen Communications.
Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Hertel, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the July 29, 2020, Public Hearing. All in favor, Motion passed.
Alderman Elliott made a motion, seconded by Alderman Hertel, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the July 29, 2020, Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes. All in favor, Motion passed.
Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Elliott, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the July 27, 2020, Village Council Special Meeting. All in favor, Motion passed.
Alderman Hertel made a motion, seconded by Alderman Richmond, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the July 27, 2020, Finance Committee Meeting. All in favor, Motion passed.
Alderman Richmond gave a brief review of the July, 2020 financials.
Mayor Hostetler gave an update about ongoing activities:
Mayor Hostetler announced a plan to regenerate the parking Ordinance and the Briarcliff Property Owners Association (BPOA) President, Mark Charlesworth is in favor.
Mayor Hostetler read Luis Ozuna, Constables Security Report.
Daily activities include the following: Patrol every street for visibility purposes to deter crime, taking calls for service, Self-initiating personal contact with the community to build a better partnership and stationary and rolling radar for compliance of the speed limit. Monthly patrol hours: 160
Luis Ozuna, Travis County Constable stated the month of August has been a calmer month than usual.
City Administrator reported he completed the second lead and copper sample set and the results were well below the EPA limits. We will now resume the normal sample routine which is every three years. Installed some meters this month and there will be more. One wastewater tap was installed and expecting to do another one. Need to install some more water taps but it is taking about a month to get the meters delivered.
