Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes September 16, 2020

Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.

Present: Aldermen Aldrich, Elliott, Hertel, Johnston, and Richmond.

Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Elliott, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the August 26, 2020, Public Hearing. All in favor, Motion passed.

Alderman Hertel made a motion, seconded by Alderman Aldrich, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the August 26, 2020, Regular Monthly Meeting. All in favor, Motion passed.

Alderman Richmond gave a brief review of the August, 2020 financials.

Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Hertel to adopt and approve the 2019-2020 Amended Budget. All in favor, Motion passed.

Alderman Elliott made a motion, seconded by Alderman Hertel to adopt Ordinance 2020-09-16-09 for the fiscal year annual budget of the Village of Briarcliff beginning October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2021. All in favor, Motion passed.

Alderman Johnston made a motion, seconded by Alderman Aldrich to adopt the Tax Rate Ordinance 2020-09-16-10 for fiscal year 2020-2021. Maintenance and Support of the (General Fund) $.0560 and Interest and Sinking on Village Debt in the amount of $.0740 on each $100.00 valuation of property. All in favor, Motion passed.

Mayor Hostetler gave an update about ongoing activities:

Mayor Hostetler visited with the Fire Marshall and was given some examples of what Ordinances to use in regards to piles of brush. The Mayor would rather use our Ordinances not the States Ordinances.

Luis Ozuna, Travis County Constable stated the month of September has been a slow month.

Luis Ozuna, Constables Security Report:

Daily activities include the following: Patrol every street for visibility purposes to deter crime, taking calls for service, self-initiating personal contact with the community to build a better partnership. Monthly patrol hours: 94

Cameras are working at the park (six cameras).

City Administrator reported three waste water taps to be installed as well as several house tear downs in Cat Hollow area.
