Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes December 8, 2021
Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Aldermen Aldrich, Elliott, Johnston, Richmond and Taylor.
Thomas Maione, thanked everyone and said he was sorry we had to have two meetings. The Mayor and Council stated that Thomas gave a great presentation.
Alderman Elliott made a motion, seconded by Alderman Taylor, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the September 15, 2021, Public Hearing. All in favor, motion passed.
Alderman Elliott made a motion, seconded by Alderman Taylor, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the October 26, 2021, Regular Monthly Meeting. All in favor, motion passed.
Alderman Richmond, gave a brief review of the October, 2021 Financial Statements.
Mayor Hostetler read the final report at the Public Hearing on December 7th also at the Regular Monthly Meeting on December 8th and the final report will be executed with the following motion:
Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Elliott to approve Ordinance 2021-12-08-07 approving a zoning change as follows location: 1375 and 1378, Briarcliff, Inc. Section 9 amended, commonly known as 406 and 408 Sleat Drive, Briarcliff, Texas 78669 from Commercial Property District (C-1) to Multiple Family Housing District (MF) zoning. number execute the final report and authorize appropriate Village Officials to take all actions and execute all documents necessary for same, including public notices and public hearings on same. All in favor, Motion passed.
Alderman Taylor made a motion, seconded by Alderman Johnston to approve the Sale of City Properties lot 183 and 896 authorizing Officials including Mayor Allen Hostetler and/or City Attorney Ken Campbell to take all necessary actions and execute all necessary documents for same. Alderman Richmond opposed. Majority in favor, Motion passed.
Alderman Elliott made a motion, seconded by Alderman Aldrich, to approve and confirm 2022 Regular Monthly Meeting Schedule and Holiday closings for the Village of Briarcliff. All in favor. Motion passed.
Alderman Aldrich made a motion, seconded by Alderman Johnston, to approve the Lake Travis View as the Village of Briarcliffβs Public Notice Newspaper. All in favor. Motion passed.
Levi Varga, Constables Security Report:
Daily activities for November 11 β November 30, 2021 include the following:
Patrol every street for visibility purposes to deter crime, taking calls for service, self-initiating personal contact with the community to build a better partnership, stationary and rolling radar for compliance of the speed limit.
Monthly patrol hours: 168
Total of 44 calls for Service and Traffic: 1 Traffic Stop, 1 Warning, 0 Citations, 15 Community Contacts.
City Administrator, Aaron Johnson stated we are still installing new meters, 30 meters have been ordered for the last three months. No progress on the water line our Engineer has deadlines he has to meet. Aaron will get a general price for the water line. Actual plans should not take long. Just the bidding process. Have to make sure it is done properly. He estimates well into next year. The funds have to be allocated by December, 2024.
