Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes March 31, 2021

Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Present: Aldermen Aldrich, Elliott, Hertel, Johnston and Richmond.

Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Aldrich, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the February 24, 2021, Regular Monthly Meeting. All in favor, motion passed.

Alderman Richmond gave a brief review of the revenues and expenses of the February, 2021 financials.

Mayor Hostetler gave an update about ongoing activities:

The joint Village/BPOA storm brush pickup went very well other than some residents violating the spirit of the pickup and trimming trees because of the free pickup. We picked up at least 125 trailer loads, all piled much higher than can be done with normal pickups with individuals loading. Every thing picked up plus a whole bunch of brush previously in the pit has been mulched. Thanks to numerous volunteers for their effort.

Holmes Ranch Development has taken a turn. I told you two months ago that they planned about 250 homes. Now it appears their talking about 1500 homes. We have told them we can’t provide water for 1500 homes. No more contact from them for the past month.

I sent Council members the draft of the parking ordinance and now I want to set up a working session so we can fix it. Parking on the road is an issue. Who can enforce is an issue.

Luis Ozuna, Constables Security Report:

Daily activities include the following:

Patrol every street for visibility purposes to deter crime, taking calls for service, self-initiating personal contact with the community to build a better partnership, stationary And rolling radar for compliance of the speed limit.

Monthly patrol hours: 168

City Manager, Aaron Johnson was absent.

Travis County Deputy Edwards requested to communicate to the Mayor and Council information about some issues going on in the Village of Briarcliff.

Adjourned at 7:35 p.m. Tina Linder, Village Clerk
