Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes April 26, 2023

Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Present: Alderman Aldrich, Johnston and Taylor.

Absent: Alderman Elliott and Richmond.

Citizen Communications: Michael Olszewski stated control the Development or it will control us. Mr. Coy said the project should be reviewed or will guide future development or vote against.

Alderman Johnston made a motion, seconded by Alderman Taylor, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the March 29, 2023, Village Council Regular Monthly Meeting. All in favor, motion passed.

Alderman Johnston made a motion, seconded by Alderman Taylor, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the April 12, 2023, Public Hearing of a Special Meeting. All in favor, motion passed.

Tina Linder, City Secretary reported nothing out of the ordinary for the month of March, 2023.

Mayor Hostetler update about ongoing Village activities: Briarcliff North District Zoning Ordinance: Public Hearing is scheduled for May 8 at 7pm at the Village Hall. The Ordinance is posted online.

As most everyone knows, the BPOA has voted to transfer ownership of the road rights of way in Briarcliff to the Village. We have initiated the transfer process with the Village and BPOA’s attorneys and a title company to handle the transfer.

We have recently become aware of a new commercial venture named Hiatus ATX located on 230 acres on Pace Bend Rd just south of Pace Bend Park. It’s advertised as 230 luxury hotel rooms, villas and treehouses plus a 300 slip marina. We posted a link on our website under Village then Public Notices then hiatusatx.com. At the moment, we know little about it but we’re looking for information.

Travis Club update: The Traffic Impact Analysis is complete. Only 3 other projects are in for review. No other activity.

Effective May 1, we begin our Mandatory Outdoor Watering Schedule which goes until September 30. Automated irrigation watering schedule is allowed before 10am and after 7pm. Twice a week Odd addresses: Wed & Sat, Even addresses: Thu & Sun. More detail is on the website under Village then Utility information then mandatory schedule.

Constable Deputy Cerrillo no issues this month. Aldermen Taylor said there is a lot of issues regarding the situation about the Dogs on Sinclair. Concerns. Deputy Cerrillo will have animal control have a hearing with her.

Aaron Johnson, City Administrator reported he is updating the Hazard Mitigation plan. He will apply for grants for the water plant. Taking care of normal water plant stuff.
