Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes February 28, 2024

Mayor called the meeting to Order at 7:00 pm.

Present: Alderman Aldrich, Elliott, Richmond and Johnston.

Absent: Alderman Taylor.

No Citizen’s were in attendance at this meeting.

Alderman Richmond a motion, seconded by Alderman Elliott to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the January 31, 2024, Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes. All in favor. Motion passed.

Alderman Richmond reported nothing out of the ordinary for the departmental General Fund and Utility Fund revenues and expenses for the month of January, 2024.

Alderman Aldrich made a motion, seconded by Alderman Johnston, Order to Cancel the Election of May 4, 2024 for unopposed Candidates for Aldermen for the Village of Briarcliff. All in favor. Motion passed.

Mayor Hostetler has no updates about ongoing Village activities.

Deputy Constable Arnold Cerrillo Law Enforcement Report for February, 2024. Daily activities include the following: Patrol every street for visibility purposes to deter crime. Taking calls for service. Self-initiating personal contact with the community to build a better partnership. Stationary and rolling radar for compliance of the speed limit. Total of calls for service: Assist Complainant (4), Assist other Agency (3), Suspicious Person/Vehicle (3 ), Community Contact (62 ), Directed Patrol (54 ) and Close patrol/House watch (2 ), Select Traffic Enforcement (5), Violation of City Ordinance (3) and Violation of Animal Ordinance (1). Traffic Stop Total: Citation (3) and Warning (2).

Aaron Johnson, City Manager reported Once per week watering. Every other week watering Mandatory Lake volume for Lake Travis and Lake Buchanan. Working on Water Conservation revised. Engineer is going between Covert and Tom Tiner’s nephew he wants water (2 acre parcel right next to Lee’s.
