Village of Briarcliff Village Council Regular Meeting Minutes January 31, 2024
Mayor called the meeting to Order at 7:00 pm.
Present: Alderman Elliott, Richmond and Taylor.
Absent: Alderman Aldrich and James Johnston.
No Citizenβs were in attendance at this meeting.
Alderman Elliott made a motion, seconded by Alderman Taylor to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the December 6, 2023, Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes. All in favor. Motion passed.
Alderman Richmond reported nothing out of the ordinary for the departmental General Fund and Utility Fund revenues and expenses for the month of December, 2023.
Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Elliott, to adopt Village of Briarcliff Ordinance 2024-01-31-07, providing for the Restrictions of Political signs on Property Owned by the Village of Briarcliff. All in favor. Motion passed.
Mayor Hostetler gave an update of ongoing Village activities: Stage 2 water restrictions you can only irrigate one day per week. New tomorrow morning no cutting Oak Trees. Oak tree trimming is not allowed in Briarcliff starting February 1, 2024 until July 1, 2024.
Deputy Constable Arnold Cerrillo Law Enforcement Report for January, 2024. Daily activities include the following: Patrol every street for visibility purposes to deter crime. Taking calls for service. Self-initiating personal contact with the community to build a better partnership. Stationary and rolling radar for compliance of the speed limit. Total of calls for service: Assist other Agency (1), Check welfare (1), Suspicious Person/Vehicle (2), Community Contact (45), Directed Patrol (41) and Close patrol/House watch (1).
Aaron Johnson, City Manager reported replacing end points. Working with the Engineer to get the water line going. Posibility Bee Creek will be widing the road. Waterline is a 2 inch line. From our new line can we tap into it. Tom Tiner he might not have a problem, from his property easement to the property from Bee Creek Road. Covert is going to have to improve. Our line is there and we would have to move it.
