Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.
Present: Mayor Hostetler, Aldermen Charlesworth, Johnston, Aldrich and Taylor. Absent: Alderman Richmond.
Citizenβs communications: Residents asked about what facility the Village keeps their money and what are our interest rates with that facility. The residents also mentioned putting in speed bumps and what were our overgrowth policies on too high of grass on empty lots and residential yards. Concerned about fire hazards.
Alderman Taylor made a motion, seconded by Alderman Charlesworth, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the October 30, 2024, Public Hearing. All in favor, Motion passed.
Village Financial Report for December 2024 read by City Secretary Amber Rowe
Alderman Johnston made a motion, seconded by Alderman Charlesworth to confirm and approve Regular monthly meetings, Municipal court schedule and Holiday closings for the Village of Briarcliff. All in favor, Motion passed.
Update about ongoing activities: Mayor Hostetler gave an update regarding the Precinct 4 Contract. The contract is at the Commissioners court and we should expect it to be done in the next few weeks. Mayor Hostetler gave a reminder that Oak Tree Trimming is prohibited from February 1st to July 1st.
No Security Report.
City Administrator thanked the BPOA Board for approving easement for the new water line going down Pace Bend. Engineer will be coming in the next week to look over area for new water line. The City Administrator explained that we had a couple of main breaks this week and that we also replaced some membranes at our treatment plant.
