Mayor Hostetler called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.

Present: Mayor Hostetler, Aldermen Charlesworth, Johnston, Aldrich and Richmond. Absent: Alderman Elliott.

Citizen’s communications: Resident asked when the tax rate would be discussed, the mayor responded to let the resident know it will be discussed at the next 3 meetings in July, August and September. Resident asked who the Village enforcement is, what are the other vehicles the city is auctioning. The Mayor and City Administrator explained that there is an old water truck that will be auctioned as well as the police car. They also explained that it takes time to auction, especially the police car because it has to be stripped of any and all police equipment and be re-painted in order for it to be auctioned otherwise it will have to go in a police auction and it is a very old car. As for Village enforcement, the mayor explained that it was himself that handles code enforcement in Briarcliff. Resident made comments about construction on a specific address on Briarcliff Drive that has lots of materials and a dumpster that has been there far too long and that they would still request speed bumps in Briarcliff, the resident called TXDOT and received a report regarding the efficiency pf having speed bumps. Resident would also like the radar put back out in the community, especially on Shotts Drive.

Alderman Richmond made a motion, seconded by Alderman Aldrich, to accept and waive the reading of the minutes of the May 28, 2025 Regular Meeting. All in favor, Motion passed.

Village Financial Report for May, 2025 read by City Secretary Amber Rowe.

Update about ongoing activities: Our Deputy is continuously working on the issue with e-bikes and motorbikes. If you see off road riding please contact the city office so they can call the Constable.

Security Report: Constable Johnson has nothing else to report besides the e-bikes and motor bikes. Constable did address the audience to ask where they believe would be a good intersection to sit in order to get people to slow down in Briarcliff.

City Administrator stated that TCEQ received plans for main water line and they are in review. Surveyors have completed their work. Business as usual at the water plant. Water usage has been down this past month. Usually, our numbers are much higher in these summer months.
